Crossfield Minor Soccer Association is proud to announce the release of the 2026 Girls Power Weekend Event Guide—your complete resource for one of the most exciting celebrations of girls' soccer in rural Alberta.
Taking place August 8-9, 2026, Girls Power Weekend has grown into much more than a soccer event. It has become a movement dedicated to empowering girls through sport, creating meaningful connections, and providing opportunities to learn from exceptional women who are making an impact both on and off the field.
This year's Event Guide showcases everything participants and families can look forward to throughout the weekend, including:
Girls Power Weekend was created with a simple vision:
To provide every girl with an opportunity to discover her potential.
While soccer remains at the heart of the weekend, the event is equally focused on helping girls develop confidence, resilience, leadership, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Through interactive sessions led by accomplished professionals, athletes, coaches, healthcare providers, educators, and community leaders, participants will explore topics that extend far beyond the game itself.
From discovering personal strengths and building confidence to learning about injury prevention, mental wellness, leadership, officiating, and life after youth sport, every session has been carefully designed with one goal in mind:
Helping girls thrive.
One of the most unique aspects of Girls Power Weekend is that it has been made free for participants.
Thanks to the generosity of community sponsors, volunteers, speakers, and local businesses, barriers to participation have been removed so that more girls and families can experience a weekend created specifically for them.
Every sponsor, volunteer, and presenter has chosen to invest in the future of girls' sport—not only by supporting soccer, but by supporting the next generation of confident young women.
Girls Power Weekend represents countless hours of planning and collaboration between speakers, sponsors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, coaches, educators, vendors, and community partners who all share the same belief:
Girls deserve opportunities to be seen, heard, supported, and inspired.
Whether you're attending your first soccer event or have been involved in the game for years, Girls Power Weekend offers something for everyone.
We encourage every participant and family to download the Event Guide before arriving so you can explore the sessions, speakers, activities, and opportunities available throughout the weekend.
We also invite everyone to follow Crossfield Minor Soccer Association on Facebook as we continue announcing speakers, sponsors, event updates, giveaways, and exciting additions leading up to Girls Power Weekend.
We can't wait to welcome girls and families from across Big Country Soccer Association—and beyond—for a weekend that celebrates courage, confidence, community, and the incredible future of the women's game.
