WELCOME TO CROSSFIELD MINOR SOCCER ASSOCIATION!

UNDER 5 PROGRAM

U5 ($65.00 EB/ $75.00 Regular Registration)

This is an introductory level to the sport called "ACTIVE START" through Canada Soccer Association (CSA). 

CSA Active Start is a program for young children to learn basic movement skills through fun, informal play.  It's part of the Canada Soccer Pathway, which aims to encourage children to participate in soccer throughout their lives. 

What does CSA Active Start teach children? 

  • running,

  • jumping,

  • landing,

  • kicking,

  • throwing,

  • catching,

  • agility,

  • balance,

  • coordination, and

  • speed.

 What does CSA Active Start do for children? 

  • Helps children develop fundamental movement skills

  • Helps children feel competent and comfortable participating in physical activity

  • Helps children build connections between their brain and muscles

  • Helps children learn to explore risk and limits in safe environments

Players will be provided by Crossfield Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) with a uniform for the season.

Parents will need to ensure their child is appropriate shin guards and athletic shoes (runners/ soccer shoes).

A $100.00 volunteer deposit is required per family.  Each family is required to participate in supporting CMSA through volunteering with various activities as part of the program.  Once a family has completed their required volunteer points total of 3-points per registered soccer participant (with a cap of 6-points per family), the volunteer checks will then be returned.

UNDER 7 PROGRAM

U7 ($85.00 EB/ $95.00 Regular Registration)

This is a continuation level in the grassroots soccer journey to the sport called "FUNDEMENTALS" through Canada Soccer Association (CSA). 

CSA FUNdementals is a program for young children to learn basic movement skills through fun, informal play.  It's part of the Canada Soccer Pathway, which aims to encourage children to participate in soccer throughout their lives. 

Canada Soccer Fundamentals is a stage of the Canada Soccer Pathway that focuses on teaching soccer techniques to young youth players. The goal is to help players develop a solid understanding of the game and how to work as part of a team. 

What are the fundamentals of soccer? 

  • Ball mastery: How to control the ball, whether it's moving fast, slowly, or in the air

  • Dribbling: How to move the ball past opponents while applying speed and tricks

  • Passing: How to make the ball work for the team, rather than just making flashy moves

  • Shooting: How to develop a great shot through technique, strategic aiming, and timing

  • Tactics and positioning: How to understand how the game works, and how each player contributes to the team

How does Canada Soccer teach fundamentals? 

  • Through fun competitions that encourage players to try different techniques

  • By providing opportunities for players to make quick decisions about which technique to use in a given situation

  • By offering lots of positive feedback

U9 Competitive ($110.00 EB/ $115.00 Regular Registration)

NOTE: For the U9 Competitive group, player evaluations will be scheduled to help ensure players are at a point in their soccer development journey to be able to move into a competitive environment.  If a player is not quite ready in their development for this level, they will be placed in the House grouping to help further their development with this age group.  Players that are in this division will be competing with other communities within Big Country Soccer Association (BCSA) district and therefore will have both home games and away games based on a set schedule.

UNDER 11 COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

U11 ($115.00 EB/ $130.00 Regular Registration)

This is a continuation level in the grassroots soccer journey to the sport called "LEARN TO TRAIN" through Canada Soccer Association (CSA). 

CSA Learn to Train is a program for young children to learn basic movement skills through fun, informal play.  It's part of the Canada Soccer Pathway, which aims to encourage children to participate in soccer throughout their lives. 

Canada Soccer Learn to Train is a stage of the Canada Soccer Pathway that focuses on the “golden age of learning,” when children become less self-centered and are more able to reflect on their actions and learn from mistakes, provides an optimal window for further development of skills. The focus is on learning by doing, building a larger repertoire of soccer movements and teaching the basic principles of play in a fun and challenging environment.

Players will be provided by Crossfield Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) jersey for the season that will be returned at the end of the season.  A jersey deposit of $75.00 is required when jerseys are handed out.  Checks will be held until jerseys are returned at the end of the season, at which time, checks will be returned to parents.

Parents will need to ensure their child is appropriate shin guards, black shorts, black socks, and athletic shoes (runners/ soccer shoes).

A $100.00 volunteer deposit is required per family.  Each family is required to participate in supporting CMSA through volunteering with various activities as part of the program.  Once a family has completed their required volunteer points total of 3-points per registered soccer participant (with a cap of 6-points per family), the volunteer checks will then be returned. 

NOTE: For the U11 Competitive group, player evaluations will be scheduled to help create the teams, if there are players enough for more than one team.  Placement is not guaranteed and is based on the evaluation process.

UNDER 13/ UNDER 15 COMPETITIVE PROGRAM 

U13/ U15 ($115.00 EB/ $130.00 Regular Registration)

This is a continuation level in the grassroots soccer journey to the sport called "SOCCER FOR LIFE" through Canada Soccer Association (CSA). 

CSA Soccer for Life is a program that continues to develop the technical and tactical skills of the youth soccer player from U13 and older.  The goal of this level is to keep players enjoying the sport for "life".

Players will be provided by Crossfield Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) jersey for the season that will be returned at the end of the season.  A jersey deposit of $75.00 is required when jerseys are handed out.  Checks will be held until jerseys are returned at the end of the season, at which time, checks will be returned to parents.

Parents will need to ensure their child is appropriate shin guards, black shorts, black socks, and athletic shoes (runners/ soccer shoes).
